In June 2023, my husband and I travelled the Canning Stock Route in the remote West Australian outback.  Because of heavy rain in the months before, as well as the track having been closed for a couple of years, the vegetation along the track was both overgrown and spectacular.  There were a large number of camels.  The biggest herd we saw were about 13 together at White Lake.  These two were the first camels we saw as we stopped to admire Gravity Lake at midday.  The bull came towards us and then moved off into the bush, while his female stayed further away.  The red desert sands around the lake were a wonderful contrast to the yellow spinifex and native trees and shrubs.  Camel painting was fun!  I hope you enjoy this one!
