In June 2023, my husband and I travelled the Canning Stock Route in the remote West Australian outback. Because of heavy rain in the months before, as well as the track having been closed for a couple of years, the vegetation along the track was both overgrown and spectacular. Desert Oaks grow in small forests/clusters at regular intervals along the Canning Stock Route, particularly in the southern part of the stock route. This particular spot was about 1 km south of Well 37 and is a favourite for tour groups and other travellers to camp overnight. On a cold June morning, a hot coffee standing around the fire under these majestic trees, was the ideal start to the day! I hope you enjoy my work!
