I purchased this projector to watch some family films 1939 through 1959. It's now superfluous to my needs as I have another machine.

I have fairly extensively modified its internals to make it functional.

All the internal asbestos has been removed together with the wire wound resistor speed control. The motor is now wired to a US Pattern 110v plug. This in turn connects to  the output of a 240/110 transformer. The transformer is supplied via a speed controller thus the motor speed can be varied easily.

On the optical front the original bulb has been replaced by a 12v Led car headlamp bulb with it's own integral fan. 12v supply is from a Chinese switch mode supply. For convenience this feeds the bulb via it's own plug and socket. The original projector sockets  are unused and disconnected.  All the sundries and projector are mounted on a ply sheet for convenience.

Good points....It works ....hopefully you can see a few moments of Mr Chaplin. The low heat bulb also allows the film to remain stationary in the gate while focusing etc..

All the bits and pieces to make it work are included excepting film and reels which are NOT INCLUDED. The power supplies are mounted on a bit of ply for convenience. There is a take up belt of the original spring variety and a brand new drive belt.  For rewind I use a plain rubber band. There is a photocopied user manual.

Bad points :  If you want a pristine machine as an ornament then this one has a rather dog eared lamp housing top and the nut that adjusts the projection angle is non original.  The base has been extensively repaired with fibre glass and resprayed black.Otherwise pretty clean and rust free.

This is a very old bit of kit and there is no way of telling how long the 89 year or so motor will continue to function. Strictly for the enthusiast  who is prepared to tinker if necessary.

Any questions please ask. Hopefully it will alow someone else to delve into some old reels.
