A delightful hand-built and abstract glazed lidded pot/vessel signed by famous Nigerian potter Danlami Aliyu.
The lidded pot has cranberry red slipware glaze swirls contrasting nicely with the muted olive glaze tones of the body - glazed interior.
This rare and highly collectable piece is in superb undamaged, unrestored vintage condition and measures approx 11cm high by 9cm at widest point around belly of pot.
Damlami Aliyu worked at the Wenford Bridge studio alongside Michael Cardew and dates this piece between 1976-1977. This Nigerian potter ranks amongst the greats such as Ladi Kwali - Gugong Bong - Lami Toto - Bawa Ushafa & Abubaker Tanko Mohammed.
