Beautiful silver set of table silver, engraved with floral patterns, birds and butterfly - tea pair (duo) (cup and saucer) of 950 standard silver and spoon of 800 silver standard.
Tea pair has hallmarks of Minerve 1 and Felix Malique, a Parisian silversmith who opened his business in 1872. He made and sold cutlery and other luxury items. Nowadays Malique family is involved in silverware and jewelry business.
Spoon has hallmarks of boar's head (800 standard silver, small items) and EP with knife, which belongs to Puiforcat family. The business was established in 1820 by Emile Puiforcat, Joseph Marie Puiforcat, and Baptiste Fuchs. Emile Puiforcat registered his mark in 1857, and even after his passing in 1883, his mark continued to be used until 1927. The workshops were located at 18 rue Chapon in Paris. In 1902, Louis Victor Tabouret Puiforcat, who was Fuchs's son-in-law, took charge of the business. Subsequently, in 1918, the renowned Jean Puiforcat (1897-1945), the son of Louis Victor Tabouret Puiforcat, assumed leadership of the company. Under his direction, the Puiforcat company gained widespread recognition, particularly for its Art Deco and modern style creations.
The condition is very good, with traces of age and usage, age stains. Tea pair has some small dents.
