SUPERB ART NOUVEAU ANTIQUE MINIATURE GRANDFATHER CLOCK c1900+WORKING PENDULUM

Standing just 10 1/2 inches high, this pretty little clock has all the style and elegance of its bigger brothers, but in a more "user-friendly" size. The case looks to be made of some sort of fruitwood that has gain a wonderful, warm golden-honey colour. This contrasts nicely with the whip-lash style of coloured & carved decoration that winds its way above and below the two viewing windows.

Unlike many of these miniatures, this one has a working pendulum and dummy weights. The pendulum has a lovely "sun-burst" pendulum bob weight, and can obviously be seen as it works away, adding movement to an already eye-catching piece.

On the dial is the famous crossed arrows logo of the Hamburg American Clock Company (HAC), who despite their name hailed from the Black Forest region of Germany. They were in business from the middle of the 1800s until the 1930s. This clock would date to around 1900.

Condition: in lovely, original, working condition. The only change from new is the addition of the wonderful colour and patina. The clock runs well keeping good time, and has what may be the original key.
