THANK YOU for considering our bright and clean two-tone style, fine running and looking collectible condition Columbus “New Columbus” model, 16 size, open face, 17 jewels, adjusted, cupped gold jewel settings, huge and numerous all-gold balance screws, ¾ two-tone nickel plate, stem wind, lever set fancy dress movement, minty original dial and hands. This fine and rarely offered New Columbus is in excellent working order, with a dead flat and true balance wheel motion that has a fine, wide arc and strong, steady beat. The movement is a smooth wind, starts right up on my 5th wind with no twist, and lever sets as designed. The movement holds excellent time but is just in and has not been further regulated or adjusted. Appearance-wise this venerable old Columbus movement (production date from “Complete Price Guide to Watches”) is looking great, with sparkling bright and clean two- nickel plates with much of the delicate original black inlaid engraving paint intact, clean and correct early screw micrometer regulator needle and whip, clean looking down inside and around the sides, and ripping and running strong and true!! The movement shows very minor and ordinary wear with no signs of abuse! The dial is its minty original double sunk enamel with triple chapter style bold black Arabic numerals, red five-minute-markers and a black outer "railroad track" minute chapter showing only two light hairlines in the outer chapter only at 3:30 and 10:30. The hands are slender blue matching spade and perfect for this early-days make and model, which will be a great acquisition for the lucky top bidder!
