Bastogne Walnut Live edge Slab

Rare and very desirable.  Highly figured grain...including curl and birds eye. Unique shape

Surfaced both sides, one side the sander did not connect with wood.  sanded to 220 on one side with light coat of rub on poly to highlight grain, which can easily be sanded off if desired.

Bastogne is a black walnut and English walnut produced by pollination.  Not a graft.  Also referred to as Paradox Walnut.

Much more dense than black walnut (hard)

slight spikes on edge.  This slab would be nice for a table top,  wall art, bench,  handles, etc.

Dry for 3 years. Under 10% moisture content. Timbor treated (natural insecticide) 

Nice  figuring, including curl

Very strong and hard wood (harder than black walnut)
