A tea cup made by Hamada Shinsaku (1929 - 2023), son of the great Hamada Shoji.
Decorated with Hamada Shinsaku's signature iron brushwork motifs under a grey green glaze.
Dimensions approx 8.2cm wide, 8.5cm tall.
Perfect condition. Complete with original signed box.
Hamada Shinsaku is the
second son of Hamada Shoji and has lived in Mashiko since 1930. He and
his son, Tomoo, work alongside each other in the original compound set
up by his father. He has exhibited widely around the world, and his
work is held in important collections such as the V&A.
