Germany Third Reich Occupation of Austria. Before dawn on 12/3/1938, German advance patrols slipped over the deserted Austrian border, and at first light the mass of the German 8th Army, with the 27th Infantry Division as it's spearhead poured into Austria. This card shows German Mountain Infantry entering Austria , with the crowds who greeted their arrival.
