It is new, unused and still sealed in the original box.

Although new, it is old stock; dated JANUARY 2007, so I cannot be 100% certain that it will still work OK.

However, I tried out another HP inkjet cartridge of the same age and it seemed to work perfectly.

Hopefully, this cartridge could prolong the life of an old inkjet printer.
