Set of gorgeous German and American silver table items - sugar bowl, creamer and tea spoon. All items are decorated with rich floral and vegetal repousse patterns.
Creamer and sugar bowl, 800 silver standard, were created in Germany, presumably in Hanau region.
Spoon, sterling (925) silver standard, was created by the US silver manufacturer Mechanics Sterling Co, who specialized on souvenir spoons.
Hallmarks:
- sugar bowl and creamer: crown and crescent (since 1886 - a hallmark to identify silver items in Germany, minimum 800 standard), J.B. (manufacturer's hallmark), sugar bowl has a swan, "cygne", hallmark (silver items imported to France, minimum 800 standard)
- spoon: STERLING (925 standard), H in flag (Mechanics Sterling, 1896)
The condition is very good, with traces of age and usage, age stains. Creamer and sugar bowl sligtly-slightly shiver on flat surface. Sugar bowl has a pair of microscopic tears on upper rim, some small dents and curvatures. Creamer has a microcropic hole in spout, barely seen. Please see photos for more details.
