A Superb Edwardian period figured walnut Chinoiserie 8 Day mantel clock.c.1910. Original gilded finish convex dial with maker's name, Swinden & Sons of Birmingham. Brass bezel surround with bevelled edge convex glass front. Gilt Oriental decoration to front with ebony stringing to the surround of the shaped case. 8 Day Swiss timepiece movement in full working order. Figured walnut case with polished brass cover to the back to access the movement. Winds once a week, with regulator and time adjuster. Stands on brass bun feet. Excellent condition. Measures 5.5" wide x 3.5" deep x 6.75".
