1951-1952 Pontiac Chieftain 2dr NOS quarter panel moldings 4587866-67

Product Description

Brand new quarter panel front moldings, GM part number 4587866 (RH passenger side) and 4587867 (LH drivers side).

These fit 1951 - 1952 Pontiac Chieftain and Streamliner 2dr sedanet, 2dr coupe and 2dr sedan, but do not fit the convertible or Catalina hardtop.

These go between the door and the long curved quarter moldings.

GM made these in different lengths for the sedan moldings and the hardtop/convertible moldings. These moldings are 10-5/8". The hardtop/convertible ones are 1/8" longer.

Brand new, never installed.

I was fortunate to be able to buy a small batch of these new moldings a few months ago. The history of them is somewhat puzzling. Some have GM wrappers. Some have wrappers that I've seen over the last 50 years and recognize as being made by aftermarket suppliers (not by GM). However, more than one of these aftermarket wrappers have original GM parts picking tags stapled to them. Those tags only exist when the part has been shipped to the dealership by GM Parts Division - not a tag that would be seen on something the dealership bought outside of the GM network. I suppose the dealership could have switched those tags from previous shipments, but seems a lot of bother.

Also, it's obvious that some of these moldings have been in and out of the wrappers so many times that they are dulled or dirty, and will need polishing to see show quality out of them. No scratches or gouges, just slight scuffing. And some of them have lost their packaging entirely, and some have found a new home with the opposite side mate in just one package. Pretty much every single one will benefit from polishing.

Shipping - Payment

A few words to make things easier.

1. Combined shipping for multiple auctions is always available, but when the auction is over, you will have to wait until I revise things in my eBay "paperwork" to create just one invoice for all your purchased auctions.  And I have to do the revising BEFORE you pay.  If auctions are paid separately (i.e. before you receive my invoice combining items), eBay will no longer then let me combine them on one invoice.  AND, eBay then automatically charges you separate shipping charges for each item, which is not refunded.  Again, this is eBay's set-up.  Combining auctions benefits you by saving you shipping and handling fees.

2. Payment is expected within 3 days.  After 8 days, I will file with eBay to have my auction fees refunded.  If there is a problem with 3 days, please let me know, as I am not unreasonable, and I know that things happen.  Just be aware that having been on eBay full-time for several years has already afforded me an opportunity to hear a lot of "creative" stories.

Thanks for your bid.
