Effectively you set the time by placing the magnet on the hour and min sections on the back set the minutes first when done press time to lock in and start the seconds counting (push the right button)

To set the date push the left button and place the magnet over the hour until the month appears then for the day push both buttons placing the magnet on the hr section again days will appear the dot bottom and top is am or pm then set the day 1 to 30.
