Here we have a Vintage 1930s UNIVERSAL LAMP CO.  'AUTO-LITE' Brass Miner's Carbide Head Cap Helmet Lamp.   The Universal Lamp Co was organized in 1913 by Jacob S. Sherman to produce his Auto-Lite carbide lamps. Sherman first lamp patent was filed in 1914. By 1918, Sherman had moved the company from Staunton, IL to Chicago. The company continued to expand its product line & in 1933, it purchased the Shanklin Manufacturing Co. & its Springfield, IL plant.  This lamp appears to be in good 'used' condition.  Small dent on the bottom edge. The left-hand copper rod for the cap appears to be loose or detached from the main rod (see pic).  Good example for your collection.  The lamp has not been tested.  Lamp body is 3-1/2" tall and it has a large, 3" dia. reflector.  Please review the pics to confirm condition !!
