Vox V.G.2 1970 Sunburst (w/Custom Top) Rare - Owned By David Duhig/Jade Warrior

Includes original retired touring hard case.

This stunning semi solid 1970's Vox VG2 has been around the world and back again!

Owned & toured by David Duhig, live guitarist for 70's prog rock band, Jade Warrior... it was purchased by myself from one of David's very good friends earlier this year.

It has since been through a lengthy professional restoration process over the last few months.

This includes:

* Full fret board levelling

* Full re-fret

* Nut replacement

* Machine heads stripped & lubricated

* '57 Alnico Pickups + new covers

* Tune-o-matic bridge & tail piece

* New set of control pots

* New output jack

* Complete re-wire

* Rotosound 10's & full final setup

As a 50 year old guitar, it got wear and markings as you'd expect, but all in the right places only increasing its charm.

The pyro-art finish was designed by David, replacing the standard sunburst top.

It's now ready for its new owner to look after and enjoy, for many years to come.

It has an incredible action, huge sound & striking looks.

Take the chance to own this absolute one off!

The 1970 Vox catalog described the V.G.2 guitar as follows: "This is the best selling Vox semi-solid. It has a twin pick-up lead and separate tone volume controls. There is a three way selector switch that gives real sound. And for fine playing there's an adjustable bridge."

Unlike the Gibson Les Paul which had a "set" neck, the neck of the Vox V.G.2 was removable. While the guitar pictured above did not have a Vox logo on it's headstock, it had a pair of triangular inlays that created the iconic diamond shape featured on Vox grill cloth. The V.G.2 was available in black, white, sunburst and red sunburst finishes. The retail price of the Vox V.G.2 guitar in the 1970 price list was £42.00.
