This is such a stunning pitcher! The richness and saturation of the background colors is highlighted by the embossed blank and LOTS of gold swirls and black penwork. Additionally, there are raised enamel accents on the flowers and leaves. The bold colors and hand painted roses are easily identified as the work of Chicago artist Andrew Motzfeldt.  It has the artist's signature near the handle, A. Motzfeldt. Motzfeldt was an artist with Pickard Studio in Chicago between 1898-1905.

This beautiful blank from T&V Limoges France has an underglaze factory mark 7 that was used from 1892-1907. In addition it bears the mark of the Mermod, Jaccard Jewelry Company from St. Louis, Missouri (1898-1903).  This beauty stands 11" tall from base to spout. It is about 6 1/4" at the widest point. Other than the most minor gold wear to the outer edge of the handle that is accentuated by the camera flash, this piece is in sensational condition. There is no wear to the painted surfaces, no chips, cracks, crazing, hairlines or damages of any kind.
