This lot features a most unique 1940 election support flyer, printed and produced in hopes of having challenger Wendell Willkie elected to the office of President of the United States in 1940. What makes this particular campaign piece rather interesting is the presence of two names, John Lewis, and Harry Bridges, who were two very prominent and influential union leaders in the United States at that time. Their support would likely have been very valuable to either candidate, and you can read up about their history and influential positions at the time of the 1940 election, in a few of the additional pages in this listing. This flyer has been framed in a fairly modern, simple, flat frame, but I have not opened it to see exactly how it was preserved inside (i.e. adhesive, tape, floated, etc.). It actually looks quite good as is, so the successful high bidder may just want to keep it the same way.

      The flyer's dimensions are 8 1/2 inches high x 5 1/2 inches wide. The frame is slightly larger by width and height.
