- Beautiful 1850s -
"CATHEDRAL / PICKLE BOTTLE"
Large Size & Iron Pontiled

This one should not of survived being found surrounded by brick rubble.  This is a large size jar measuring 11-3/4" tall x 3-3/8" wide. It was hand blown into a two part mold in aqua colored glass, circa 1850s. Has an applied square lip almost like what's more commonly seen on a medicine bottle. Deep concave iron pontil base with iron intact. This is a very early pattern that also comes open pontiled. Has been lightly cleaned inside & out and looks great. The four sides have all the same fancy gothic like patterns. The entire bottle is crude & whittled. No chips, nicks, cracks, scratches or repairs, it's nice.
Excavated from a large brick-lined privy in the California Gold Country years ago.
