See photos and note the following:

 - These controllers are from one of my brother's old sets.  I no longer have any track for this set so the controllers are not tested.

Both controllers are orange with blue buttons and stripes.

 - The wires that go from the controllers to the tracks are in great shape, no breaks or fraying of these cords.

 - - - The plugs at the end of the cords that would attach to the track look undamaged and are well attached to the cords.  The metal conductor in these plugs may need some cleaning, but overall these plugs look to be in good shape.

The buttons on top of the controllers work (meaning when pressed down, they click and then pop back up).

 - The "trigger" on one of the controllers works as expected (meaning when you pull the trigger that would make the cars go forward, it has the tension like other race car controllers I have used). 

 - - - The trigger on the other controller does move, but the tension spring is either loose or broken and may need replacement.

 - When moving the triggers on both controllers, I can hear the metal connecting with the parts in the controller that would make the car move (I hope that makes sense).
