Deadheads Everywhere !!!  As yes, most-certainly " We Are Everywhere !!!!! ".  Just like the Good Ol' " Dead Tour " Bumper Sticker once did say ... so-well !  Ahhhh, yes ... "
Curtis Hixon Convention Hall " in Tampa, Florida !  Yep, that's right folks - the " # 1 " that started it all.  Amazing, truly-amazing.  Just think, this Original / Inaugural " Dick's Picks # 1 " release is now " Amazingly ! " pretty-close to Celebrating it's 30th Year ! of giving all of us " All-that-Joy ! " over the last few decades.  Wow, 1993.  What I distinctly remember was having to almost sit-down & contemplate the Dream-come-Reality that The Grateful Dead ( courtesy of Dick Latvala - the " Keeper of the Vault " ) would be releasing a consistent series of historic / monumental performances with amazing ( unprecedented ) remastered sound-quality.  STEREO 2-TRACK CONCERT RECORDINGS !!!  Finally, we've arrived.  The possibilities were endless ...  I couldn't even grasp the depth of countless shows that could be released ??!?  We had a taste of CD / Digital goodness with " From the Vault I & II " in 1991 & 1992, but now word on the street ( Shakedown Street, naturally ) was that the Dick's Series was for real, was a long-term thing, and would not stop.  They would be continued to be pumped out one after another, maybe even a couple / few a year, depending on the popularity, sales & Deadhead support !  There were even flyers, posters, handbills, mailings, etc. promoting the goods !  Ahhh ... and the best part is, that you could still go & see the Band Live ! - lots.  I think the 1st run of Shows I saw after I owned my 1st Dick's Picks, was the February '94 run where Garcia was on absolute FIRE ! all-three-nights ( especially on 2/27 !!! ) - delivering a downright aggressive guitar-assault clinic for the loyal Dead Fans.  I mean life was good !!  Could it really get any better ?  Seriously.  The opening notes of the " Here Comes Sunshine " are some of the favorite sounds of many a Deadhead's ear -- fresh rifts / chops, timing & arrangements straight out of the August '73 Wake of the Flood sessions !!  Some of the most inspirational ultra-clean Grateful Dead you will ever hear, no doubt.  And the best part was too, that the Dead started playing H.C.Sunshine in December '92 as well !  I remember being in Mighty Autzen Stadium ( for the Band's '93 Triumphant-Return ! ), and Jerry wasted no time, calling it for the opener to kick off that Historic 2-day stand in the bright Oregon  Sunshine !!!  And, don't forget to credit Vince Welnick for " nudging " Garcia & The Boys to bring back this " Vanport " Garcia / Hunter Treasure !  Also ( not to ruin it if you haven't heard it ), when I broke the seal on my copy of DP # 1 I remember thinking " So, why this one 1st, Dick ? " . . . then Disc Two was played, and here's what happened to me ( & All of Us ! ) :  He's Gone > Truckin' > Nobody's Fault > Jam > Other One > Jam ...  Wow ...  I need to stop right there or I might type this whole Legendary ! 2nd Set.  This IS ! Dick's Picks Volume One, and it HAS ! beyond-stood the test of time -- over " Twenty Five Years ! " - So Far !! ... if I may.  You just gotta love it ...  Enjoy !!!!!
