BUSINESS PROCESS MODELLING USING BPMN AND UML TRAINING GUIDE
How This Course Is Organised
This Course introduces business process modelling using the BPMN and the UML process modelling standard. This Course will show how BPMN and UML can support different Methodologies as well as different modelling goals (e.g., Use-Cases, orchestration and choreography), using actual business processes as examples. Sample business models will also be presented and explored to illustrate the main concepts and notational innovations.
This course starts with the definition of BPMN, an explanation of its history and the principles behind its design. It then explains two groups of elements, including use cases and selected examples. The course covers elements from the latest release - BPMN 2.0. Students are presented exercises and required to bring a laptop - they will use a Windows-based, BPMN modelling tool to create the exercise answers.
You will learn a structured approach to using BPMN. Your knowledge is enhanced by using a software tool to provide hands-on practice.
In addition, learners get a detailed framework for evaluating BPM Technologies/Tools and gain in-depth understanding of the various categories of BPM Tools and Technologies.
The course delivers hands-on exercises to give students the feel of modelling with the major BPMN model elements; using the BPMN Compliant FREE ITP Commerce Process Modeller For Microsoft Visio version 5 SOFTWARE for hands-on exercises.
