The AZ series is the result of Ibanez's experience from "A to Z".
The American basswood body is laminated with beautifully grained flame maple, and the pearloid pickguard gives it a luxurious feel.
The pickups are AZ-specific Hyperion pickups developed in collaboration with Seymour Duncan in an S-S-H arrangement.
The output is kept low to take advantage of the guitar's original characteristics, with an emphasis on picking tracking and reproducibility, and the pickups have excellent balance on each string and ride well with effectors.
The neck and fingerboard are made of S-Tech Wood Roasted Maple, which is heat-treated for shape stability, durability against warping, water resistance, and resistance to temperature changes.
The neck shape is a thick Oval C-shape, which overturns the image of conventional Ibanez guitars, and matches any playing style.
The stainless steel frets allow for non-stressful and expressive choking and vibrato.
The side position marks are made of luminescent material, making them more visible on stage.
The bridge, jointly developed with GOTOH, a highly acclaimed hardware manufacturer, features a machined titanium saddle and a machined steel inertia block, and also features an extended high register.
The Alter Switch, which is essential for creating a wide range of sounds, differs from the common coil tapping method in that one coil is tapped and the other coil is specially wired to bring out the low frequency range of the other coil, resulting in clear highs and a thick, clear sound.
The pegs are equipped with GOTOH Magnum locks, and in combination with the bridge, the tuning stability is outstanding.
This is a confident model packed with Ibanez guitar manufacturing know-how from A to Z. It has the potential to captivate any guitar player.
