Here you have a 16MM colour sound documentary titled Turtle Island (L'Île aux Tortues). Presented

by Le Secrétariat d'État aux Affaires Étrangères chargé de la Coopération, directed by A.J. Stevens,

the musical score assured by French composer François de Roubaix (1939-1975) and dated in the

early 1970's. Located near Madagascar, Turtle Island is the place where a large number of turtles

gather to perform their reproductive cycle. At the same time, many variety of birds also regroup

for the the same reason, These sea turtles can grow up to two meters in lenght and lay from 100

to 200 eggs, this task is done during the night. When the young turtles hatch, their first instinct is

to go toward the ocean. However, very few manage to reach the water as they are captured by

the verocious frigate birds. You see the life cycle of those giant green turtles.

Condition of film and characteristics:1,075 feet in colour, complete with the main title, the opening

and end credits. Has the original head and tail lab leaders including a different countdown.

Also note that the titles and credits are in French however the narration is in English.

Print is on Kodak Safety Film stock with color that has faded but there is still colour

remaining in some areas, has no lines, no splices, has a sharp focus and a loud and clear sound track. 

Overall in near mint condition. Mounted on a 1,200 foot brand new brown reel from Goldberg inside a 

brown metal canister from Goldberg of the same dimension.
