Description

The Aruba 200 Series Access Point models bring 802.11ac technology within everyone's reach, offering optimal performance for mobile devices in medium-density enterprise Wi-Fi environments.

These compact and affordable dual-radio Access Points deliver wireless data rates up to 867 Mbps for 5 GHz devices with 802.11ac technology, leveraging two spatial MIMO streams, simultaneously supporting 802.11na 2.4 GHz clients with data rates up to at 300 Mbps.

The AP-205 and IAP-205 models feature four integrated downward-sloping omnidirectional antennas, while the AP-204 and IAP-204 support detachable dual-band external antennas using two RP-SMA antenna connectors.

Unique benefits:

  • Wi-Fi Client Optimization: Using patented ClientMatch technology, 200 Series APs continuously collect session performance metrics from mobile devices, eliminating “sticky” user behavior when moving and automatically directing the device to a better AP if it moves away or if there is RF interference that limits its performance.
  • Advanced Cellular Coexistence (ACC): Minimizes interference from 3G/4G LTE networks, distributed antenna systems, and commercial small cell/femtocell equipment, allowing WLANs to operate at maximum efficiency.
  • Quality of Service for Unified Communications Applications: The 200 Series APs support priority management and policy enforcement for unified communications apps, including Microsoft Lync, enabling encrypted video conferencing, voice, chat, and desktop sharing.

Operating Modes: The 200 Series APs offer multiple operating modes to meet your specific management and deployment needs.

  • Controller-managed AP or Remote AP (RAP) running ArubaOS: When managed by Aruba mobility controllers, the 200 Series APs offer centralized configuration, data encryption, policy enforcement, and network services, as well as distributed traffic transfer and centralized. Please see the Aruba Mobility Controller datasheets for further details.
  • Aruba Instant AP running InstantOS: In Aruba Instant mode, a single AP automatically distributes network configuration to other Instant APs in the WLAN. Simply power up an Instant AP, set it up wirelessly, and connect the other APs – the whole process takes about five minutes. For large multi-site deployments, the Aruba ActivateTM service significantly reduces deployment time by automating device configuration, firmware updates, and inventory management. Instant APs are factory shipped to any site and automatically configure when they arrive
