An antique Japanese late Meiji era decorative enamel over copper plate or charger. The interior of the plate is adorned with a polychrome design of sparrows and frogs in blossoming flowers and plants on the turquoise ground made in the Cloisonne technique. The borders are adorned with polychrome floral and foliage ornaments made in the same technique. The backside is decorated with a foliate scroll ornament made in the Cloisonne technique. Unmarked.
