“Mallets on the Mendocino Coast: Caspar Lumber Co. Railroads and Steamships" is Ted Wurm’s pictorial history of railroad logging and steamship operations along the California redwood coast north of San Francisco.  From 1861 until 1955, the Caspar Lumber Co. harvested and shipped redwood and other timber using their own railroad and a fleet of steamships to finish the delivery to buyers.  With many b/w photos, a two-page fold-out map, locomotive rosters and diagrams plus other illustrations to augment his text, he shows the country and operations.

This 134-page, quarto-size, hardcover book was published in 1986 by Trans-Anglo Books as their unstated first edition. The book is in like-new condition with no damage - no text markings, no jammed corners, no dog-eared pages.  The dust jacket is in like-new condition with no chips, tears or creases and is protected by a mylar cover.  The photos are of this very book.  This book will be packed and shipped in a box to prevent damage.
