Vintage Original ' Venue-Specific ' Grateful Dead ( GDP, Inc. ) Tour Shirt ! for the Red-Hot !! 1987 Chinese New Year Show run ... The " Year Of The Hare !!! " - at the San Francisco Civic Auditorium !!! With an Awesome ! Lightning-Bolt ' Rabbit ' ( Hare ! ) Design !!!!!
Grateful Dead Fans !! ... Chinese New Year ! Fans -- and of course ... Rabbit !! Fans too -- The 1987 " Year Of The Hare ! " Grateful Dead '87 Chinese New Year Tour Shirt !! Wow ... How Incredibly-Awesome ! This is the Vintage Original ( Genuine / Authentic ) Grateful Dead ( GDP, Inc. ) ' Venue-Specific ' Tour Shirt sold inside the San Francisco Civic Auditorium on January 28 - 30, 1987 - specifically-designed just for the 1987 Chinese New Year 3-Show run ... Celebrating the 1987 Chinese New Year " Year Of The Hare ! ". As what's that Good Ol' saying after all ... " There ain't Nothin' ! like a Chinese New Year !! - with the Grateful Dead !!! ". That's what I say ... and that goes for Mardi Gras ! Shows too ( naturally ... ). Special -Event Treats ! ... from the Band & for the Fans - with the likes of Orchestras ! - Stage Dancers ! - Special Guests ! - and of course too ... Parades !!! And, as Chinese New Year Shows & Mardi Gras Shows were generally in Oakland - and, especially 'after ' this '87 run - this one was actually held in S.F. proper ! As in 1987, the Band decided it would be a good idea to place this Festive Party - right inside The City ! And, with there always being an appropriate ' Theme ' too - for the individual Chinese New Year Calendar ' Year ' - well, this '87 turn of the page in History ! ... just happened to be done by the Rabbit !! - or, as I should more properly say... by the " Hare !!! ". A Simply-Amazing ! & ' Quintessential ' Grateful Dead Tour Shirt ! ... and indeed one of the Best ! from the 1987 G.D. Touring-Year ! And, this isn't just any Ol' Hare here - as this guy or gal here is actually " Magically " pulling out a Lightning Bolt ! straight-out of an upside down Top Hat ! Just kind of like how Jerry Garcia ! was pulling a Guitar ! out of a Top Hat - later on during this Fine ! Dead-Year of '87 - with the J.G.B. ! and at the Lunt Fontanne in New York City ! ( as I'm sure you've seen That-One ! - or, at least ... the photos of it ). Classic ... Well, this was a 3-Show stand on 1/28/87, 1/29/87 & 1/30/87 with the ' Actual ' Chinese New Year night being on the 1/29/87 ... with the 1/28 Show indeed being the ' Opener ' of this run - which, may I add kicked-off with a Huge ! Shakedown Street !!! And then, right-after that ... one of the Highlights ! of this entire '87 S.F. run, and really too - one of the all-time '80's G.D. Highlights ! Well, at least definitely from an ' Entertainment ' standpoint ! ... The Beatles " Get Back !!! " - delivered by ( you guessed it ... ) Bobby Weir !! ... " Come on Loretta ! - and take off that High-School Sweater !! " Hah !!! A Hot ! Scarlet > Fire ! to open Set II of the 1/29 Show ! ... and an even Hotter ! China > Rider !! to ' Close ' the 1st Set ! on 1/30 ... Real-Hot ! Stuff of '80's G.D. Legend ! on this Red-Hot '87 S.F. stand ! I mean this was a sheer Classic ! - a little bit off & out of timing / tune, and yet still completely-drenched with '80's G.D. Awesomeness !!! And too, I'd have to check & look into it to be certain ... but, I'm pretty certain that this run was actually the Last & Final ! time that the Grateful Dead ever played the S.F. Civic Aud. ? - as, it was pretty much always East Bay - in Oakland ! style in the moving forward - which, is always way-cool too - for the super-Fun Chinese New Year & Mardi Gras run type stuff. So, point being ... all of you " Wabbbit ! " Dead Fans out there Must ! have this one - and, especially if you were fortunate enough to catch this '87 S.F. Civic Chinese New Year run of Shows !!! There is Nothing ! quite-like a Chinese New Year G.D. Show ... and one year I was even Lucky ! enough to see one right-on my Birthday !! Wow, as I must say ... That ! " Dragon-Parade !!! " was something-else my fellow Dead Fans ! Chinese New Year Shows ! - and Mardi Gras Shows ! - Always-Rocked !!! ... a little more low-key, always on the West Coast in the Grate ! State of California ... and there always seemed to be a little ' Extra-Special ' G.D. Magic ! in the Air !! So yeah, in '87 ... the Bunnies !! were indeed in the House ! - as it was indeed Their Show ! ... " The Year Of The Hare !!! " - and of course too, naturally ... it was their Big Day !! Hey Now ! ... well " What's Up Doc ? " says this G.D. Lightning-Bolt Rabbit ! ... oops, I mean " Hare !! ". And also too ... look-out Loretta ! Hah !! Enjoy !!!!!
