Jerry Garcia Fans ! - Grateful Dead Fans ! - Acoustic Music Fans ! Folk & American Music Fans ! ... Whoa !!  Take my advice, as you had better seriously consider ' falling-in ' for This-One ! - if for some reason you have yet to hear this Brilliant !! material.  Played ' Live ' in the Fall of 1987 - and released in 1988 - which means you've had roughly 30-Years ! to acquire this one ... so, have you ?  Well, if you have yet to hear & own this Amazing ! release ... you indeed waited just long-enough !  And, if you do already own ' Almost Acoustic ' ( the 1988 released Classic ! ) ... well, then You ! still ' Need ' to have this release too !!  As this is indeed the 2010 release of the 1988 classic " Almost Acoustic " Live Album - digitally remastered in dynamic HDCD Audio !!  This is simply ( & obviously ) one of the most-important Jerry Garcia re-releases ( " Remastered " releases ! ) ever - of All-Time ! ... The Remaster !!!  And, as it goes without even saying ... if your ears love the sweet sounds of Jerry strummin' the 6-string Acoustic - then you most-definitely need this one & you need it fast !  In fact, what are you waiting for ?  Wow ! ... simply Brilliant ( American-Acoustic ! ) Music to the Ears !!  And just-why ? do I recommend this one so strongly ?  Well, for me personally ... this is one of those quite-few CD's that pretty much changed my life - and that was way-back in 1988 - when I purchased my 1st copy of this Legendary release on Cassette Tape !  That indeed is how far this one goes back, but the material itself ?  Still fresh, cutting-edge, and truly amazing - here today ... nearly 20-years in to this New Millennium !  And why ?  Well, obviously because this unit was staffed up by the diverse musical talents, vision & genius of Jerry Garcia ! ... you know ?  I mean ... naturally !  This is Jerry & many of his long-time pals playing Acoustic American Music !!!  Rooted in American Music - Folk - the Blues - the Appalachian - the South - I mean you name it ... and This-Project is Tight !!  This was simply a ' one-off ' Tour that happened in all of its Glory ! in the Fall of '87 - and Shows were only performed in Los Angeles at the Wiltern ! - San Francisco at the Warfield !! - and on Broadway ! in New York City !!!  14-Tracks of sheer Live-Acoustic-Magic !! on this disc my fellow Garcia Fans ... David Nelson on Guitar/Vocals - Sandy Rothman on Mandolin / Dobro / Vocals - John Kahn on Acoustic Bass - Kenny Kosek on the Fiddle - and David Kemper on the Snare Drum.  And of course ... J.G. delivering the Acoustic Guitar - Lead Vocals - and the Jerry-Magic !!!  Not to in any way discredit the other Guys in the Band - as they are indeed Amazing !  But ... Oh-My-Jerry !!!  Wow, I mean come to think of it ... I think this was Garcia's 1st release since his 1982 " Run For The Roses " Album ... and with this one being recorded in '87 - it's amazing that he could even find the time, with the Grateful Dead resurgence - and the ' Touch of Grey ' thing in Full-Effect !?!!  But he sure did ... and thank goodness !  And, Garcia being the hard worker that he is - we can count our Lucky-Stars !  He even had time to swing together a J.G.A.B. " Jingle " for a Levis 501 Blues Commercial !!! ... remember that one ?!  A Total-Classic ...  In a matter of fact - this " Almost Acoustic " release was actually the very 1st Jerry Garcia ' Live ' Album / Tape / CD that was Ever ! put out, at the time of it's original release in 1988.  Pretty crazy too, when you really think about it - but, oh my ... how Completely-Cool !  For this one - I am most-certainly " Eternally Grateful !!! " - as this one was quite-influential in turning me myself into a Guitar Player ! - and Lifelong Musician ! too !!  This one's just ' That-Big ' Folks - well, at least to my ears !! - and soul !!! ... Enjoy !!!!
