1937 Ford Coupe

this 37 Ford coupe has all original V-8 60 is described as a real-deal barn find that was found first in 1996 in a barn in the Midwest. It was purchased by a local Ford dealer, then moved to a barn in Ohio where it sat on jack stands until October of 2016 after finally reaching agreements with the next collector the car was purchased then finally, was treated to a professional mild restoration in 2016, including going thru the drivetrain and a original paint correction and cleanup. This car is an incredible time capsule, one that’s powered by its original 136 ci flathead V8- touted at 60hp. This powerhouse was paired with its original 3-speed manual transmission and runs and drives like the day it rolled off the factory line. The maintenance performed within the last few years include replacement of the gas tank and fuel pump in 2016, both water pumps, and the radiator, more recently the original 6 volt generator was rebuilt and a new battery added.
This Ford coupes’ paint was professionally corrected in single stage black as part of its restoration, and featured polishing the accompanying bright work for the front and rear bumpers, door handles, side view mirrors, and fuel cap. The front bumper was originally fitted with the Ford factory grille guard. The body has a working split and vented windshield, curved fenders with integrated running boards, and a two-piece rear window, along with dual exhaust outlets exiting below the rear bumper. Factory color-matched steel wheels with V8-branded hubcaps are wrapped in wide-whitewall tires.
The interior is fitted with a tan cloth split bench seat with a matching headliner and door panels, and a contrasting black rubber floor pad. The metal dashboard was finished with a faux wood appearance, and additional faux wood trim is featured on the interior window surrounds. The trunk houses a spare tire with the car’s original retention hardware and boards.
Instrumentation includes a 100-mph speedometer along with accompanying gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, voltage, and oil pressure. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 98k miles, but total chassis mileage is unknown.
The 136ci flathead V8 beneath the hood was rated at 60hp at 3,500 rpm when new and is identified by the 17 studs securing each head to the engine block. Maintenance noted by the seller as having been carried out within the last five years includes replacement of the gas tank and fuel pump, both engine water pumps, and the radiator, also recently replaced the generator and the battery.
The sale includes a 1937 Ford reference book, a clear Arizona title, recent service records, and other documentation. This 1937 just finished a fantastic trip down Route 66 starting in Chicago and winding its way down to Santa Monica, CA. This coupe has been tried and tested and is ready for its next adventure in life.
