Vintage Sheaffer Targa 1022 Laque Black Fountain Pen, GT, Fine 14K Nib *Ex Cond*
This is one of the high end classic full size models in the popular and functional Targa range. This model was introduced in 1980 and discontinued in 1998 and is now very collectable. This is a Laque Black finish with 23K gold electroplated trim. The finish is hand lacquered 14 times and polished by hand. It has a fine 14K gold inlaid nib. Nice condition for its age.!!
Condition report:
Excellent cosmetic condition with the usual age related surface marks and a very fine short scratch on the barrel (see photo 3). Laque Black finish with 23K clip and trim. This is the classic full size version of the pen. Clean crisp White dot on the clip. Stamped "Sheaffer USA" on the cap band. Clip is a nice firm fit and properly aligned. It has a 14K inlaid gold nib in perfect condition. No size marked but it looks like a fine. Uses either cartridges or an ink converter filler (neither supplied). Dip tested and writes really nicely (see photo of writing sample). No box.
This is a particularly fine example in excellent condition of a very collectable and usable pen.
