In 1994/95 Shorten season of 48 games due to the players strike, the NHL thought up away to create some excitement to the disgruntled fans due to the strike. For the 1995/96 season on January 27th 1996 6 teams were to unveil their new 3rd jerseys. The Ducks, Kings, Bruins, Penguins, Canucks, All introduced their jerseys except for one. The Blues were the 6th team. Instead of Donning their Trumpeting jersey, they came out with their regular Home Whites. Story goes that coach of the time Mike Keenan found these jerseys so horrible and embarrassing for his team to wear, he refused to take the ice with them on. The trumpeter jersey never was shown to the fans. Personally I don't blame Keenan. Its one ugly jersey.

This is a custom jersey.  Made in Montreal Canada, and done by many of the same people that use to do CCM. As a custom jersey, it was  never produced by Starter. Not a Authentic jersey from the St. Louis blues. All numbers , Letters., and patches are sewn on. GRETZKY sewn directly to the jersey. ( no name bar)  Made with 100%Air Knit. This jersey has a fight strap and reinforced Elbows. Even though the Blues never got to wear this for the fans, it has still become Blues history. A great jersey for a blues fan or for that collector of unique jerseys.
