Thank you for viewing this listing. Up for sale here is a rare piece of Italian micro-architecture history by Roberto Menchiari. This piece is entitled "Antico Noe" and was created in 1997 by the Florentine artist Roberto Menchiari. This piece measures 13.50" x 20." This piece has been in my family for a couple of decades and belonged to my late grandmother who was an avid art collector. This piece was stored in an air conditioned home and was never exposed to smoke or the elements. It is in excellent condition and will be packaged appropriately. Here is a little background information on Roberto Menchiari:
An internationally renowned Florentine considered the inventor of microarchitectures. Roberto Menchiari represents glimpses of cities going far beyond photography, stopping time through his works. His is the art of the small pleasures of life, which make each of his works unique. He exhibited his works for the first time in Florence in 1989 under the Loggia Rucellai, the great success soon took him to the OK Harris museum in New York, Germany, Spain, and China. Even former US President Bill Clinton owns one of his works. Roberto Menchiari has created miniatures of many cities, but his greatest love remains that of Florence, in particular the Florentine Oltrarno of which he has reproduced the most curious details.
Best regards!
