INTRODUCTION1.1 GENERALMatrix Converters (MC) are essentially 4-quadrant forcedcommutated converter and are formed by connecting a bi-directional switchcells in a matrix form. They are capable of fabricating an arbitrary outputthe voltage of variable frequency and magnitude. Factors like single stagetransformation of voltage and frequency, bi-directional power flow capabilitysinusoidal input and output voltage, more compact size, low weight, and DClink-free architecture, make this converter more attractive than a standard twostage converter.
