This is a 1940s Gretsch Synchromatic Super Structure 6411 archtop acoustic guitar in a tobacco sunburst finish. It comes with a Gretsch case.

The finish on this guitar is all original and tested under a blacklight. The hardware is all original on the guitar. It has the desirable "harp" tailpiece and curved rosewood bridge. Sometime in its history, a pickup was added to it. But in more recent years, it has been de-electrified. There are still leftovers of electrification present, for example: the pickguard has the cutaway for the pickup and holes for the volume and tone controls.

The Gretsch Synchromatic was made for a couple of decades, starting in the 1930s. The dating on this guitar is not exact due to the difficult-to-read serial number inside. Later Gretsch models used a paper label inside the bodies, but this one is stamped inside with ink.

Overall the guitar is in very good playable condition and is cosmetically very good. The neck is in great shape and has not been reset. I verified this with a blacklight as well. There are cracks in the finish along the side of the neck where it joins the body. These are simply caused by aging and pressure on the neck over time. I can't find any cracks in the body at all. The top board has some finish checking, which are not cracks in the wood, but in the finish.
