Original miniature antique copperplate engraved map in hand coloring depict THE WORLD in double hemisphere.
Claude Buffier was actually more renowned as a French philosopher and historian than as a cartographer.
He was born on May 25, 1661, in Poland, and died on May 17, 1737, in Paris.
Buffier was a Jesuit priest known for his contributions to the fields of philosophy, history, and education.

Cartographer: Antonio Zatta was an Italian cartographer and publisher active in Venice during the late 18th century.
Origin: Venice, Italian edition of "Geografia Universale del Padre Claudio Buffier..," edition: MDCCLXXXVIII.

Condition: A good example of an antique map with some marginal imperfections consistent with age.
