Creality Ender 3 Pro Custom 3D Printer
Rebuilt and Customized

Refurbished and Customized Creality Ender 3 Pro 3D Printer. 
Unit was completely disassembled, cleaned, with each part examined and replace if found worn, then the unit was reassembled under exacting standards with a host of custom and enhanced parts. The unit was then tested, calibrated, and then tested again to verify best operation.

During assembly, all parts were verified to be mounted square and all bolts were properly torqued.

List of Modifications:
1. Control board replaced with latest Creality V4.2.7 Silent Motherboard loaded with Creality V1.4.1
(Marlin 2.0.1) firmware.
2. Extruder replaced with Titan Style Geared Extruder with brass inlet.
3. 3D Touch Auto Leveling system added to unit.
4. Hotend nozzle replaced with Micro Swiss Plated Brass nozzle.
5. Stock filament guide tubing replaced with Capricorn Bowden PTFE Tubing.
6. Stock Fan Duct replaced with 360 airflow design fan duct.
7. Filament Sensor added to unit.
8. Z-Axis Frame Brace added to unit.
9. Stocked Spool holder replaced by Roller style spool holder.
10. Auto Off switch system with On-Off-Auto front power switch added to unit.
11. Dual drawer storage added to unit to store tools and small supplies.
12. Power Supplied moved to rear of the printer in custom case.
13. Custom Y-Axis Stepper Motor and limit switch housing.
14. Bubble Level to verify printer is setting level.
15. Replaced Z-Axis Stepper Motor Mount and coupling for better Z-Axis operation.
16. Black V-Slot Covers installed.
17 .Both Z-Axis and Y-Axis Belt tensioners replaced with adjustable tensioners.
18. Print Bed Die Springs replaced with firmer units.
19. Stock Control Display mount replaced by custom Control Display case with optional
Raspberry Pi 4 mount available. Custom case provides a better viewing angle of Display.
20. Stock Print Build Plate replaced with BIQU Spring Steal Double Sided Build Plate.
Note: Build Plate will show signs of use because of testing.


Calibration:

A three step calibration process was used to calibrate the Ender 3 Pro. First a 20 mm cube is printed with the default Steps per mm settings. The measured dimensions of the cube are entered in to a spreadsheet which computes a set of trial Steps per mm settings. Then a 100 mm Calibration model is printed. Again, the measured dimensions are entered in to the spreadsheet which computes a refined set of Steps per mm settings. A third 100 mm Calibration model is printed and measured to verify the settings.

Using Inland PLA+ Filament printed at 210º C and bed surface temp of 50º C.
X-Axis 100 mm printed at 100.41 mm
Y-Axis 100 mm printed at 100.27 mm
Z-Axis 100 mm printed at 99.82 mm

Extruder: A run of 100 mm of filament used 100 mm of filament.


Testing:

Initial testing was performed to verified correct operation of all there axis stepper motors, end stops, extruder, Auto Off switch system, cooling fans, filament sensor, and filament scale. Then the unit was calibrated.

After calibration, the unit was tested for 50 hours of operation printing multiple patterns from both the MicroSD Card and stand alone OctoPrint Control system (not included) to verify correct operation.
