Magnificent small table mirror with floral decoration in Rococo style set with a clock from the “British United Clock Company” brand in Birmingham (England)
The British United Clock Company was established in 1885 by Edward Davies (formerly superintendent of the Ansonia works in the United States). He opened a factory in Birmingham, England. The company closed its doors in 1909. This allows us to date this mirror-clock to the end of the 19th century or the very beginning of the 20th.
The bevel-cut mercury mirror follows the shape of the bronze. It’s a beautiful piece of craftsmanship!
In excellent vintage condition (see photos). The clock winds up without problem and ticks. However, requires servicing to reattach a needle that has come loose.
