Clothed in its sumptuous burl walnut skin, this charming smaller clock absolutely oozes quality. Firstly is the colour & grain of the fabulous walnut used. The grain has a glorious burnt amber, mixed with dark honey "smoke effect" on all five sides (even the inside of the rear door!!), which contrasts beautifully with the small ebonised decorative trim to the bottom. The brass bead work around the dial and those gorgeous little feet just add more to more. It stands just 5 1/2 inches tall, 5 inches wide and 3 1/2 inches deep.

Behind the perfect bevelled glass sits the "pretty as a picture" dial. Raised chapter ring, wonderful cast spandrels and fine blued steel hands present a very handsome face. At the heart of the clock beats a quality, 8 day, French platform movement. The platform allows the clock to run on any surface, level or not, without the need to set it in beat. It is in full working order, keeping very good time, complete with a key, ready to go.

I would guess this clock dates to around the 1920s, so has quite some age to it. It was stylish and pure quality when made....nothing has changed on either account.
