I have researched the three jet necklaces I have and this one looks to be possibly Whitby Jet - it leaves a brown mark when scuffed on a tile is lighter than the other of similar length and is warmer to the touch - all leading me to think it’s Whitby jet.

14” faceted graduating strung on what looks to be course wool or hair? These beads were used for mourning by Victorian ladies. It’s dainty and very beautiful in antique used condition
