The Morgan Dollar and Peace Dollar are two of the most iconic silver coins in American numismatic history, each holding significant historical and cultural significance.

The Morgan Dollar, minted from 1878 to 1904 and again in 1921, is named after its designer, George T. Morgan, who served as the Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint during that period. It was introduced as a result of the Bland-Allison Act of 1878, which required the U.S. Treasury to convert a specific amount of silver into silver dollars. The coin's design reflects the nation's westward expansion and industrial development during the late 19th century.

The Peace Dollar, minted from 1921 to 1928 and again in 1934 and 1935, was introduced to commemorate the peaceful resolution of World War I and symbolize the nation's aspirations for global peace. Designed by Anthony de Francisci, it represented a departure from the previous Morgan Dollar, emphasizing a sense of tranquility and peace.

In 2021, both the Morgan Dollar and Peace Dollar made a triumphant return, thanks in part to David Ryder who was instrumental in facilitating the execution of the 1921 Silver Dollar Anniversary Act. This act authorized the mintage of Morgan and Peace Dollars to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the transition from one to the other.

For this 100th anniversary celebration the United States Mint issued five Morgan Dollars, representing the original mints, and one Peace Dollar. This highly anticipated release was deemed an instant success as these Morgan and Peace dollars made their way into collections around the world.

Building upon this success, in 2023, the U.S. Mint has issued Uncirculated, Proof & Reverse Proof versions of both the Morgan and Peace dollars.

The 2023 Reverse Proof Morgan Silver Dollar is struck at the San Francisco Mint. It is the first Reverse Proof Morgan Dollar ever struck! The obverse features Liberty in profile, surrounded by stars, the inscription "E PLURIBUS UNUM," and “2023”. The reverse design which includes the "S" mint mark showcases a majestic eagle with outstretched wings, clutching arrows and an olive branch, accompanied by inscriptions of "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and "ONE DOLLAR."

Similarly, the 2023 Proof Peace Dollar is also struck at the San Francisco Mint, and is also the first Reverse Proof Peace Dollar ever struck. The obverse displays Liberty wearing a radiant crown, and the reverse depicts an eagle at rest holding an olive branch, above the inscription "PEACE." Additional inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," and "ONE DOLLAR." Also included on the reverse design is the "S" mint mark.
