Early antique Masons Ironstone Serpent handle 8 inch tall octagon jug.  Very early piece of ironstone earthenware hand painted accents.  This jug was an every day used item in its time. The handles glaze is as if it's worn from where a hand held it. The inside you can see the finger indents of the person who made it there are manufacturers imperfections like surface splitting, a few spots where the glaze is thinner or missing and the paint application is curd. Besides the manufacturers imperfections shown in the last photos the jug has very small area of crazing on the jug near the Serpents head otherwise there are no chips cracks or repairs.
