We, the current sellers, purchased the letter from Freeman's, a well-known auction dealer of historical items in Philadelphia, PA. We personally excised the offered clip from that very letter.

• The original autograph clip that reads " Procure ", handwritten by P. T. Barnum in 1871. This clip was excised from a letter completely handwritten by Barnum in 1871.
