A yunomi made by Living National Treasure Tatsuzo Shimaoka (1919 - 2007).


Decorated with Jōmon cord inlay pattern and iron brushwork motifs.

 
Dimensions approx 8.9cm wide, 9.0cm tall

Potters marks on the foot. 

Perfect condition.  


Shimaoka Tatsuzo (1919 - 2007) was a Japanese mingei potter who was student of Hamada Shoji and later became the second Living National Treasure of Mashiko in 1996.  He was best known for his Jōmon zogan (cord inlay) style of pottery, and was a master of many slip decorating and firing techniques for pottery.
