Originally known as Legacy, the band changed its name to Testament in 1986. Testament is widely regarded as one of the leaders of the second wave of thrash metal, alongside bands like Exodus, Overkill, and Death Angel. The band's classic lineup includes vocalist Chuck Billy, guitarists Eric Peterson and Alex Skolnick, bassist Greg Christian, and drummer Louie Clemente.
Testament's debut album, "The Legacy" (1987), quickly established them as a formidable force in the metal community, characterized by its aggressive riffs, complex arrangements, and Chuck Billy's powerful vocals. The follow-up album, "The New Order" (1988), solidified their status, featuring fan-favorite tracks like "Trial by Fire" and "Into the Pit."
