The Indian textile measures 30 x 31 inches, with sewed in loops at each corner for stretching the fabric on the embroidery frame. They can be used to attach the tapestry to the wall if you like. 100% cotton with some silk threads. The base fabric may be linen.  Some of the embroidery is gone—the silk floss, specifically.

 

It seems that the red--- and the green threads for filling in the parrots have deterioration issues. Must be the sheen on the cotton (may be silk) embroidery threads/floss. As the other colors and threads have no deterioration.

 

Needs to be ironed in the center, and I don’t own an iron anymore. The tapestry was folded and must have shifted in one of the cedar trunks where it was stored for decades.

 

No rips or tears on the base fabric.

 

Approximately 168 mirrors, 3 are broken but still in place. No missing mirrors.
