Buckingham, first day cover with miniature sheet of four ‘Olympics Handover’ commemorative stamps issue 22nd August, 2008.
The cover has been signed by Richard Meade OBE (1938-2015), triple Equestrian Gold medal winner. The 3 Golds he won were at Mexico City in 1968 and 2 at the Munich Games.

A small label on the reverse of the cover certifies:- Richard Meade OBE won a Gold Olympic Medal in Eventing in Munich in 1972.

Richard John Hannay Meade OBE (1938–2015) is Britain’s most successful male equestrian at the Olympics. He was a triple Olympic gold medallist and the first British rider to win an individual Olympic title. He also won five World Championship medals, including team golds in 1970 and 1982.
