Huntley & Palmers tin - A La Mode

·      Vintage 1981-1982

·      Huntley & Palmers, Reading, Berkshire

·      Made in England

·      Perfect for storage of bits and bobs or a pretty display item. A charming piece of history.

A small octagonal tin with illustrations on the sides of fashionable Victorian and Edwardian ladies. Four ladies in hats are shown in roundels on the lift-off lid. All appear on a cream background.

‘The nostalgia for turn-of-the-century styles reflected in this tin recalls the 'Cameo' tin of 1979-1980. That tin used Victorian and Edwardian paper-cuts and some of the images used here look as if they could have started life in a similar form. Manufactured by Huntley Boorne & Stevens using offset litho.’ Note: Product information taken from the Reading Museum
