Description

Celibidacke & London Symphony Orchestra

Legendary live recordings of the famous duo are collected on three SACD discs!

Official recordings released under the authorization of his son

The best-selling live recordings of Celibidacke and the London Symphony Orchestra, originally released on CD on the Prominent Classics label, are now officially licensed, ALTUS-remastered and SACD single-layered.

The series of concerts between Celibidacke and the London Symphony Orchestra took place between 1978 and 1982.

The relationship between the two orchestras was very good at that time, and in 1980, the two musicians visited Japan for a concert tour.

This was around the time of his appointment as principal of the Munich Philharmonic, and Celibidacke's transcendental style of playing had already been established.

The performances are all excellent, especially the Ravel and Fauré “Requiem” with Michelangeli, which is a tremendous masterpiece.

The legendary seven concerts are recorded on three SACD discs over an extended period of time, allowing you to fully enjoy the virtuosity of Celibidacke.

The program includes the following pieces.
